South West Lands is a new housing development to the southwest of Wembley Stadium and part of developer Quintain’s 85-acre regeneration of Wembley Park.
J S Wright designed and installed the mechanical services for its 156 shared ownership and affordable rent apartments, spread over three buildings of 6, 10 and 19 storeys above ground-floor commercial space.
The two larger linked buildings are served by Quintain’s wider district heat network while the smallest building of 29 apartments has its own energy centre.
Mechanical Installations:
- Low Pressure Hot Water (LPHW) heating system connected to district heat network in basement heating plantroom
- LPHW heating system connected to three gas-fired condensing boilers in own plantroom serving smallest building
- Distribution pipework to feed LPHW to apartment Heat Interface Units (HIUs) for hot water and underfloor heating
- Boosted Cold Water (BCW) system including pipework from cold water plant room to serve all apartments
- HIUs supplied on utility boards from in-house prefabrication department
- Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems
- Internal rainwater systems
- Supply and installation of all sanitary ware
- Individual apartment energy monitoring and prepayment billing systems
- Above ground drainage systems
- Building management controls
