New Union Wharf is a multi-phase estate regeneration on the banks of the River Thames in which a 1970s estate has been replaced by 399 modern, energy efficient homes.

J S Wright was responsible for designing and building the mechanical services for all 201 apartments and communal spaces within the fourth phase of the development. The contract followed the company’s completion of the 114-home second and third phases.

Mechanical Installations:
  • Boosted cold water (BCW) plantroom with distribution network to deliver boosted cold water to apartments for domestic hot and cold-water services
  • Low temperature hot water (LTHW) heating network from combined heat and power (CHP) gas boilers to feed apartments via heat interface units (HIUs) for domestic hot water services and underfloor heating
  • Mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) systems
  • Car park ventilation
  • Residential sprinkler system fed by boosted cold water
  • Above ground drainage
  • Internal rainwater system
  • Supply and installation of all sanitary ware
  • Individual apartment energy monitoring and prepayment billing systems
  • Dry risers
