Dandara Arena Central is a major two-block private residential development near Paradise Circus in Birmingham city centre

J S Wright was responsible for the design, installation, testing and commissioning of the mechanical and electrical services for the 324 one and two-bedroom apartments along with the concierge, gym, lettings area and basement car park.

Mechanical Installations:
  • Mains cold water supply from site boundary to concierge, lettings, wet riser tank, cold water tank and booster set in basement plant room with distribution pipework to apartments, and basement CAT5 wash-down booster set
  • Hot and cold-water systems, including pipework and boosted cold water feed from plant room to apartment electric water cylinders to serve all domestic appliances
  • Mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems serving apartment block mezzanine levels, concierge, gym and lettings areas
  • Mechanical extract ventilation systems serving apartment block levels one to 22, basement substation, lettings kitchen and toilet areas, and concierge toilet areas
  • Above ground drainage soil vent pipework from all apartments and concierge and lettings areas
  • Siphonic rainwater drainage from roof areas
  • Rainwater drainage within basement car park serving podium area
  • VRF heating and comfort cooling for concierge, gym and lettings areas, and split system AC cooling for cold store
  • Sprinkler system fed by boosted cold water serving all apartments, with monitoring from concierge
  • Firefighting wet riser fed from basement plant room, with dedicated tank and pump system, serving outlets on all floors
  • Firefighting wet riser fed from basement plant room, with dedicated tank and pump system, serving outlets on all floors
  • Gas fire suppression system serving basement substation

 

Electrical Installations:
  • Lighting and power installation to all apartments, and communal,concierge, gym, lettings and basement car park areas
