Blackwall Reach is one of the UK’s largest residential mixed-use urban regeneration projects.

The £300million development in the Poplar district of east London will create more than 1,500 new homes in a brand-new neighbourhood occupying over 20 acres.

J S Wright was responsible for the design, installation, testing and commissioning of the mechanical services for Phase 1B, now known as Station Square, comprising 242 homes and commercial areas within two nine-storey buildings and a 23-storey tower.

Mechanical Installations:
  • Three plate heat exchangers within a central energy centre to deliver LTHW heating to all three buildings

  • Associated twin pump sets, pressurisation units, degassers, and side stream filters

  • LTHW distribution to each of the apartments via heat interface units for domestic hot water services and underfloor heating

  • Cold water storage tanks within two tank rooms

  • Associated cold water booster sets, water conditioners and BMS alarm panels, including below ground pipework to the 23-storey building

  • Mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems with supply and extract grilles for all apartments

  • Comfort cooling for all eight penthouses

  • Above ground drainage and rainwater harvesting systems

  • CAT 5 washdown system

  • Sanitaryware and brassware

  • Mains cold water feed into retail units
